Kaden is 17 months old today....

Kaden loves to cuddle, give kisses, rub noses, swat at things (and people), get into cupboards, slam drawers (on his fingers sometimes), climb up the stairs, take a bath, play outside and just play, dance, watch Elmo and Baby Einstein, steal his sister's binky and hide it, steal his sister's bottle and drink it (he's been off the bottle for 3 months now), steal his older sister's cell phone and hide it, grab the remote and try to get video on demand, look at himself in the mirror, be the center of attention and Kaden loves to eat.

Kaden doesn't like to take a nap, keep his shoes and socks on, go shopping (unless in a grocery store cart where he can see everything), and really that is all I can think of for now, but definitely, he is the cutest and happiest little boy ever!

Madison's 2-month well baby visit

Someone is getting so big....
Weight is 11.4 pounds (60th percentile)
Length is 22 inches (60th percentile)

Madison (AKA Princess Catherine)....

Can you even believe the Maddy is 2 months old today?? She goes to the doctor for her check up later this week, so I'll update on that later, but for now, she is growing like a weed, she has more rolls than the Michelin man, doesn't miss a feeding every 3 hours day and night. She's very alert and isn't afraid to tell you when she wants something or just isn't happy. Her pictures are funny, every other shot, her eyes are wide open, I'm guessing the shock from the flash, but it's too cute. She is cooing and smiling a lot, so of course, that makes us all smile. She has a head full of long super soft curls/waves. It feels like she has been with us forever. Other than sleep deprivation, I can't remember what life was like without her. We love this baby girl so much and count our blessings everyday!!!

On this 15th day of October......we got snow!!!

This past Saturday we went to Jesse & Angela's wedding. How cute are my 2 boys!!!! Kaden and Madison were both well behaved, Kaden loved to dance as long as I was the one doing the dancing and holding him. Madison just went with the flow. The wedding was beautiful. Our friend, Donnie, was the photographer at the wedding and captured this great photo. This is Kaden's second wedding, he didn't know what to think at first, but once he warmed up, he had lots of fun. What a character he is. My hands were full pretty much the entire time, but I may have been able to get a few good pics, so when I have a minute (or 2), I'll see what I have in my camera and post more if I got any good ones. In the meantime, I just love this picture....thanks Donnie!!!!

I finally got some pictures of Madison with her eyes open, but most were blurry but I did manage to get one good one....

New Look...

In case you didn't notice, our blog has a new look. I'm going to really try to post more pictures. I know I've been slacking. Here are a few updates on Kaden and Madison.

Kaden's 15-month check up he weighed 24.7 pounds and 31 inches long.

He is in the 50% - 60% percentile all the way around.

He loves Maddy and always wants to kiss her, but you can't take your eyes off him, in the next second, he may want to drag her across the room!!!

Madison's 3 week check up she weighed 7.15 pounds and 20-1/4 inches long.

She eats like there is no tomorrow.

She hasn't been tolerating regular formula lately, so I've switched her to soy based a few days ago and so far, so good!!!

Our new baby girl.....

So, I've been quiet about our new addition until now. So in case you don't know our wonderful news and to make a long story short, we received a phone call in mid June from our adoption agency that placed Kaden with us. Kaden's birthmom was expecting another baby and asked if we would like to adopt her baby girl that was due in August. Of course, this was a "no brainer." We felt so blessed and forever grateful to her. Really, there is no way you can ever repay a birthmom for this precious gift. After only a few days, we got our home study updated, our clearances, etc., etc., and were ready to welcome this new precious baby into our arms. Madison was born on 08/20/2009 at 12:26 p.m., weighing 6 pounds 10 ounces and 18 inches long. She is beautiful. We are happy to be home and are settling in. Here is a picture of our beautiful baby girl and I also have to include a picture of her big brother, Kaden.

Kaden's First Year Photos

Again, I can't believe that it has been over a year (13 months to be more accurate), that we have been blessed with this precious little boy. Here are more pictures from his 1 year photo shoot.

Sneak peak at Kaden's One Year Photos

Here is just one sneak peak at Kaden's one year photo shoot. He wouldn't smile at all, but we were still able to get some REALLY cute pictures!! He wouldn't stay in one place for more than a second. If he was standing, most of the shots were of him walking away as they were shooting the pictures. If he was sitting, most of the shots were of him crawling away. What a challenge, but again, that didn't stop us from capturing some excellent photos of our adorable little "toddler" with the rebel personality. This is one of my favorites. More to come shortly. Getting Ready for Jeremy's wedding....

We purchased Kaden's outfit for his cousin's (Jeremy) wedding a month or so ago and since the wedding is now this Friday, I thought it was time to try it on and see how it looks and if it fits. I'll let you be the judge on that.....

Still Kracking up with Kaden.....

Kaden wasn't crazy with excitement to ride the pony. They tried to take him for a ride, but he was clinging to daddy for dear life; however, he did reluctantly pose for a few pictures!! This picture was taken at our neighbor's birthday party, Isabella, who also just turned a year old! We'll have to keep a close eye on those two, they already love to kiss (on the lips) when they see each other!!!

It's still hard to believe that Kaden is a year old. He had his 1 year check up yesterday, 6/3/09. He is such a trooper, having 4 shots in his legs. He still has a bump on his leg from one of his 6 month shots and the doctor said that may never go away. Here are his stats:

Weight 22.7 pounds (50th percentile)

Height 30.5 inches (60th percentile)

Head circumference 18.25 inches (65th percentile)

Kaden is definitely on the move, always has to be down walking, but is still wobbly, but gets more steady every day. He loves to stand in his crib and jump. He is such a happy baby. The doctor gave the official okay to take him off formula and give him table food. She wants to see him off the bottle by 15 months (yikes). He has very little interest in using a cup, so we'll have to be more persistent. He has such a sweet personality and loves to be the center of attention and if he's not, he'll "yell" saying AHHHH very loudly to get everyone's attention and that definitely works, no matter where we are. He loves to babble and make funny faces just to make us laugh. Kaden has brought more joy to our lives than we could have ever imagined!!
